About Me

A lifelong musician and educator, I was born and raised in Tucson , Arizona. With three degrees in Music Education, Finance, and Business Administration from the University of Arizona, I have led a rich career in music both in conducting and teaching. My experiences range from teaching at the elementary, middle, and high school levels in the classroom to my current work with community groups of all shapes and sizes. I conduct wind bands, string orchestras, choirs, jazz groups, and most recently a British-style brass band.

In my teaching career, my students received all-state recognition in the bands, orchestras, and choirs I led. I wrote many marching shows, including the arrangments, drill, and color guard choreography which won several caption awards throughout my career. My ensembles and colleagues describe me as a thoughtful and caring leader who can bring the best out of any place I exist in.

My classical musician training comes from Dr. Jerry Kirkbride, Dr. Daniel Becker, Dr. Jackie Glazier, and Laszlo Veres on clarinet, Dr. William Dietz on bassoon, and Greg Hanson and Thomas Cockrell in Conducting. I am always looking for opportunities to improve and have participated in several conducting clinics and symposiums including the Wind Band Conducting Symposium at Northwestern University.
